FNFN DEPARTMENTS.

ADMINISTRATION:
This is the main office that houses many different departments of the Fort Nelson First Nation.  Among these are,  Administration, Health and Family Services, Education, Finance, and Economic Development.  Chief and Council also hold their weekly and most public meetings in the Council Chambers meeting room.  Many different responsibilities are addressed within this building.  The FNFN adheres to the public and also follows our Reaching for Our Vision statement which encompasses twelve community-based initiatives.

CHIEF & COUNCIL:

LANDS & RESOURCES:
Lands and Resources is responsible for ensuring that the interests of FNFN are represented with regard to all matters of Lands and Natural Resources.  They support Chief and Council and all members of the community to ensure that Treaty Rights are respected, protected and able to be exercised by all community members.  For additional information, contact 250.774.6313 or check out their website at www.lands.fnnation.ca.

CULTURE:
This department works with all departments with program implementation and the developement of new programs that meet or exceed culture revitalization.

JUSTICE:
This department helps clients with legal issues in and pertaining to the Court System.  They also oversee community probation, Restorative Justice programming and various other community by-law issues.  You can contact the Talking House at 250.774.6565.

DEHZONA FAMILY CENTER:
The Center hosts a daycare facility which has two rooms (Sunshine & Rainbow) which cover 6 months - 6 years old children.  The Aboriginal Head Start program is also operating out of this building.  For more information on programs, call 250.774.2361.

YOUTH & RECREATION:
Youth and Recreation offers community programs for all ages.  They operate out of the Meyosin Center.  They can be reached at 250.774.7320.

CHALO SCHOOL:
Chalo is an independent school which runs K - 12 as well as an ABE program.  You can contact Chalo School at 250.774.7651 or visit them on the web at www.chaloschool.bc.ca.

EDUCATION:
Education is responsible all Post-Secondary School funding, scholarship, and funding application processing.  You can contact Violet Markin, Education Coordinator at 250.774.7662.
